I'm not excited here... I'm actually half asleep so I'm very calm... I get on N4G and see the big news but when I a read the description I see nothing about universal in game voice chat yet I see you getting on here starting a flame war about $1 a week for XBL. If PSN still doesn't match features then you got your answer.

From what I've read here all this update does is let you see your friends list and send text messages via in game XMB. Where is the universal voice chat?
If this is true I wouldn't start pulling out the "what the xbots playing for now?" garbage because typing text messages to coordinate a game of COD4 = fail. The PS3 will not be completed until you can voice chat with anyone anytime like on XBL.

Totally agree Sony has really been focused since the launch of PS3. They deserve kudos for that. I can't wait for all these new features to come out. Can't wait for E3! Great time to be a gamer.

I totally disagree with this whole "MS had 5 years but poor Sony has only had 2 years" concept. SegaNet started online console gaming a LONG time ago. SegaNet dropped the gantlet so Sony, Nintendo and MS all got the same wake up call. Sony somehow didn't know console online gaming existed until XBL on the original Xbox? Come on thats total BS. How does the 360 video store suck? Works great for me. Its a nice service in comparison to other VOD services I've used like Tivo Unbox and Comcast On Demand. Maybe your expectations are too high or you haven't had much experience with VOD.

Everyone has been wondering what Sony would do to counter the gamerscore concept. You can have trophies but it helps if they add up to something simple and easy to show. I think this tiered thing is actually a pretty cool idea. Instead of saying I have 100k gamerscore you could say I have 100 platinum 200 gold etc. Maybe platinum trophies are for stuff like getting 100% and gold for beating the story.. Interesting.
